On January 16, 2024, the "Artificial Intelligence Workshop," organized by Istanbul Technical University (ITU), was held at ITU's Gumussuyu Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan Campus. This event featured comprehensive academic discussions on the roles and future of artificial intelligence in higher education. Professor Dr. Kemal Bıçakcı, a faculty member of the Informatics Institute, contributed to these discussions both as a member of the organizing committee and as a panelist.

Throughout the workshop, the impact of artificial intelligence on the fields of education and research was examined, supported by current data and statistics. The event included sessions focused on the knowledge and technological leadership roles of universities that stand out with their integration of artificial intelligence. In the panel, student perspectives were also included, providing in-depth assessments of the changes brought about by the use of artificial intelligence in higher education and how these changes have affected the academic field.
