Hacer Duzman and Muhammed Enis Şen, PhD students of Computational Science and Engineering Program, received awards in the "5 Minute Thesis Competition" organized at the "Başarım 2024 8th National High Performance Computing Conference".

The conference was organized by TUBITAK ULAKBIM, Middle East Technical University, Sabancı University, Istanbul Technical University UHeM, and Bilkent University, with the support of the EuroCC2@Turkey project. It took place from May 15-17, 2024, at the Middle East Technical University CCC.

The aim of the competition was to effectively and clearly explain the importance of HPC in solving the problem addressed in the thesis or how the developed solution contributes to HPC.

Hacer Duzman, a PhD student and research assistant, won the first prize with her master's thesis presentation titled "Patient-Specific In-Silico Hemodynamic Characterization of the AAOCA Anomaly in Left Coronary Artery Network", prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Serdar Çelebi. PhD student Muhammed Enis Şen received an honorable mention with his master's thesis presentation titled "Exploiting Optimal Supports in Enhanced Multivariance Products Representation for Lossy Compression of Hyperspectral Images," prepared under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Süha Tuna.
